My husband picked a good spot for setting up a tripod

The 'how to shoot fireworks' FAQ on DPS came in real handy. I would not have guessed to set the lowest possible ISO without it. A cheapo IR remote did a fantastic job to eliminate camera shake.

July 4th 2010_1093

The only spot available was behind a power pole. I'll have to clone that out, but so far, this is my best shot of the evening.

I actually like the cross silhouette that the power pole created there. if it was more centered, it would look purposeful and kind of daunting...

Default first fourth with my new camera

This was my first fourth with a DSLR, and I tried playing around with the bulb setting.
