Lightbulb Hdr

hi,

to make a HDR image i use bracketing function on D90 with +1, 0, -1.

when shooting in RAW do we need to activate bracketing. Or its enough to take single shot and do +1 and -1 in photoshop to create 3 pics.

Thanks.

You can create a pseudo HDR using one RAW file and the method that you indicated. However, to really capture a wide dynamic range, you should shoot at least 3 exposures even with RAW. There is a lot of information contained in a single RAW file but there are limits. I recommend a little bit of a larger spread than you indicated. I usually use -2, 0, +2 as a minimum.

Minimum for a proper HDR is 3 files, -2, 0,+2. Bare minimum.

You dont need to use bracketing either. As long as you adjust the exposure by 2+ stops, you're golden. I usually shoot in A or M, adjusting the shutterspeed (in both cases) with the camera on a tripod. Gets the same results, not fiddling with special modes.
