First Try at Photographing Products

I've got a fishing buddy that does custom airbrushing of fishing lures, and he wants me to help him get some pictures. (in exchange for some free lures of course, lol)

Anyways, I built a lightbox out of a cardboard box, and here's some of my results. Sorry if this is in the wrong section by the way.

Not a custom lure, but a still a cool looking one.


Here's a custom painted lure from a guy on a fishing forum.


Here's a different lure.


And here's a reel just for good measure, lol.


They were all shot with a Canon XSi, f/8 aperture, ISO 100, with exposure times from 1/8-1/20.

I thought they look pretty good, but I'm still very new to this.

Any suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated.

Your first time has worked out very well, these are excellent. Your lighting is spot on.

I like the head on view in the first image, though it's probably not the right perspective for selling lures (I imagine fish only see the lure from behind or side on )

I went a head and shot a few more. I'll edit them tomarrow. if they turn out like these, I'll let my friend know it's good to go.
