Photo Storage Options

I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this question, but I couldn't identify a better one. I am looking for a really good photo storage system can anyone recommend? I am considering SmugVault and Carbonite, but before I start paying a fee, I just thought I'd check around the DPS for any other suggestions. Right now, I have about 28K file images... with that number increasing all the time. Thanks!

If you are talking about jpegs why not just upload the full size to a Flickr Pro account ($25/yr). They allow unlimitted storage and they are safe in a remote location.

I will look into Flickr... and i don't know what planet I was on when I wrote that initial question, but I actually have around 220GB to store--the majority of older stuff is jpg but my newer files are by and large RAW... so I have a real dilemma, as my computer only has 300 GB of hard drive storage! I have a Carbonite subscription now... which is great, except that my internal drive is now full and Carbonite won't add on an external drive.

So I am looking for an additional 3rd party storage provider that isn't thru the roof in price. SmugVault is pricey when you have a lot of gig to store. For mine, it would already be nearly $50 a month, which for a nonpro, seems like a hefty monthly fee.

I will check into Flickr... but are there any other good ideas out there for offsite, affordable backup storage?

If you have that much stuff why not just put it on an external drive? You can get a terabyte drive for like $129 these days. If you want it off site store the drive in a bank safety deposit box for under $100 a year.
