You need a high shutterspeed to freeze the action of the sports and to limit the motion blur induced by camera shake with long lenses.

Sports are one of the hardest things to shoot: You need LONG and FAST, which is never cheap. Ideally you'd want a large-apeture, long focal length lens. These are the most expensive lenses.

To get that short shutterspeed you'll need to open the aperture all the way open and raise your ISO. If you still cant, then there's not much you can do but lower your shutterspeed to a proper exposure and hope for the best.
