Hello All,
I am new here and hopefully this is in the right section. I have been thinking about getting some backdrops and was wondering about the Chromakey Green Screen Muslin. Can I get this and change the background to black or white or anything really in post processing? Are there any downsides to doing this? Thanks, kronoss |

www.eefx.com sells good greenscreen backgrounds. The foam-backed fabric is probably your best option as it's reasonably cheap and is easy to work with. chroma-key.com also sells it.
You can replace the backgrounds. The downside is that, like most things in photography, there's a learning curve. There's a lot you can do on the photography side that will make your life difficult (or easy) in post. The biggest issue is green spill... how to avoid it and how to deal with it if it shows up. Here are some basics for shooting chromakey: http://digitalanarchy.com/primatte/studio.html While this is meant for our Photoshop plugin, Primatte, the tips on shooting will work no matter what tool you're using to remove the backgrounds. cheers, Jim Tierney Digital Anarchy Plugins for Photoshop |

Amvona - Home has them too, but I wouldn't recommend a green one because you'll almost always have to replace it with a digital. If you get a gray or even white and then ensure that your subject doesn't have the same color, it can be replaced as easily as the green.
And yes, there is a learning curve to getting the replacement done properly.
