The 18-200 DX is a good walkabout/vacation lens. Try B&H.

I think the OP means a diopter add on lens which attaches like a filter. To allow macro work.

LoveDSLR is refering to a diopter control for the viewfinder.

i know what the diopter is, but wondering if anyone has used one, particularly for the 18-200 lens.
or for that matter.
i read this outta the John Shaw nature photographer, its awesome.
Anyways just wanted to look into the diopter filter idea. for now untill i can find a micro 200mm (nikon) lens, after i get the 24-70mm f2.8..

If you're just doing it as a tempory thing, I would say go for it - just dont expect awesome clarity as it is a 'add-on' lens.... never going to match the real deal.

My daughter got me a set of these for Christmas as I wanted to try some close up work and couldn't afford a macro lens. She got them from eBay; do a search for CAMRAY MACRO CLOSEUP LENS KIT. A current link is here but will expire in time for sure.

Here are some shots I took with the +4 on my 18-135 kit lens.

Hope this helps.

No, there are four individual filters that you can stack if you wish. The ones I linked to are +1, +2, +4, and +10.
