Got this last night as the moon was just rising. I do like the colors.

Default My first attempt

Hi! Like this thread, also just tried to shoot the moon a couple of days ago, and now i found this forum. Nice...what do you guys think about it? I will shoot agian on the first clear night here..

here is a shot of the moon taken with a canon S2 IS without a tripod. crop to center the moon.

I haven't quite mastered it yet - even the slightly extended range of the lens I am borrowing at the moment (Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC MACRO) doesn't get me as close as I would like. However, that extra 20mm over the kit 18-55mm on my Nikon D40 is still an improvement, even if still not a patch on some of the other shots here:

That's as good as it gets unless we get one of those nights where the moon seems to hang really low or I get some way of zooming in closer.

nice one, bu cant you get is any sharper with photoshop, on the full size the moon is still kinda blurry...
