Exclamation Flash Gallery

Hi everyone,
I have done alot of research on how to proctect myphotographs on my photography website from NOT being stolen. I wnet on alot of photography webites / portfolios / professional photographer's websites & the majority had flash galleries.
Now the only thing that i can come up with is to put some of my best of the best photographs that i took in a flash album or gallery & that way they won't get stolen but im still not 100% sure about that.
Do u think if i get a flash album or gallery would protect my photographs from being stolen or used without my permission? What is your thoughs on this? any advice?
Thanks in advance!

you can always do a screen print to "borrow" photos. I use zenfolio and they are right click protected. So if someone did a screen capture, they would have to take it to an editing software and then crop out the stuff they don't want - so the final pic would be horrid.

But a very small percent of the population will steal your photos and even a smaller amout will go through all the trouble...

You can disable right-click using scripting in the page markup, which is likely the easiest way. Of course, users can always printscreen. I usually also have fairly small images, so they're of little use to anyone.

quite honestly, if you can see it on the screen, you can capture it and use it. this doesn't mean you can print decent quality to whatever size you want, but if you display a 400px x 600px image on the screen, you can capture it and use it somewhere else at the same resolution or smaller without degrading the image quality.

and yes, you can capture images from flash galleries, or grab still frames from flash (or any) video displayed. that's why watermarking is a good idea. I use zenfolio which automatically adds my watermark to the displayed images of everything I upload.

Folks remember that right click protecting does nothing in the end, your computer downloads a copy of the image to your HD..go to your own website and then look in the temp internet files and $10 says there is a copy sitting right there to do with what you will (based on the quality of the image on the website of course)..right click protection or not, and flash slideshow or not..

This is true, but there are some caveats. Most people dont KNOW that the images go to a temp folder, and most people are told to empty out their temp folders every so often (usually WEEKLY on a windows machine) to keep it running at a decent speed

Yes most dont know about that (thankfully), but for those who want the images, they simply need to go to the websites view them and wait for the computer to download to the temp file..no screen capture needed...
I to have my temp file delete after I close he browser but while you are in session the files are there for the browsing (or printing or etc....)
