you will need to get close to these birds with that camera.. and again echoing what i said in your deer thread.. DONT use the digital Zoom.

I always use a tripod for my birding... again if you have Continuous Shooting on your camera use it.. also Continuous focus is good too because they move often... in my back yard i hide behind the grape vine... and poke my lens thru and i have the feeder set up just on the other side... I hope this helps some

Thank You Very Much Natures Pixel. How Can I Tell If I Have Continuous Focus On My Camera. I'm Pretty Sure I Have Continuous Shooting Because I Setup My Camera To Take Ten Shots In Ten Seconds Intervals.

Would A Tele Converter Help Me Here?

A teleconverter may help but if using so you especially want to make sure to use a tripod and minimize shake as much as possible because the focusing gets a bit off with the extenders and may have issues catching birds in flight but could be worth a shot. As always read reviews and test products if possible to get your own feel for them before purchase. Amazon didn't have many reviews for the teleconverter but none of the reviews showed any 'wow' aspect.
