I would like information on this too. I have a large fish tank with some great fish in it but I can't seem to get any good quality shots of them.

typically use widest aperture lens you have (50mm f/1.8 in my case)
meter for the highlights in Av (Aperture priority), and set the exposure bias down to lke -1.7 or something. that way you capture the natural darkness and force a faster shutterspeed. ![]() i hope that helps, search these forums for concert photography, night photography.. the concept is essentially the same. you cant meter for the midtones becuse its too dark and the shutterspeed would be too long. dont use the flash.
