Hi! Thankyou for your response. I did try an upload the photo, but was asked to "enter the URL of your image". As a total new-chum to this site, I was not sure what that meant or how to go about it. Also EXIF, could you enlighten me please? Not up with Camera speak at this point, but very willing to learn.

You can post your image as an attachment to a post (Use the "new reply" button on the bottom left of the last post).
EXIF refers to the camera model, lens, focal length, aperture, shutterspeed, iso, exposure compensation, etc. If you're on a PC it's available on your images by Right click image file > properties and it's in one of the tabs. On a mac it's right click > get info (or CMD+I) and is right in the window under image data.

Follow the tutorials in this thread.
Posting Pictures from Photo Sharing Sites (A visual guide) To get EXIF from flickr, which is one of the easyist ways to get it, the FAQ helps you with that. Digital Photography School - FAQ: Weekly Assignments EXIF data is short for Exchangeable Image File Format and is standard on many images. The main information that we are looking for and that is helpful is: * Date taken * Shutter speed * Aperture * ISO * Lens used * Whether or not a flash was used You can find this information on your Flickr site, if you use Flickr, under "More Information" on the photo page. |

Do you have "digital zoom" enabled in your camera? The red edging might be an artifact from the camera's implementation of "digital zoom".
(When a camera does "digital zoom" it's actually doing post-processing on your image. But cameras are not very capable at post-processing. Much better to do it yourself, under your own control, using more capable post-processing software.) |

Looks to me like a simple case of overexposure.
The moon is very bright against a very dark backgroud. Did you use auto-exposure? Those kind of condition can throw it way of sometimes and it will get worst with full moon approaching. Try a shorter manual exposure and see if it does the trick. |
