Default HELP- Dirty Camera.

Hey everyone, I am wondering if anyone has any input as to clean my own camera. I was reading to blow out the inside with compressed air. I am going to try this later but this is pretty dusty. Any other input on how to clean my camera?

STOP!!!! NEVER USE COMPRESSED AIR!!!

Those cans of air spew out liquid droplets which will just make things worse. Use a rocketblower which just forces pressurized room air. Also search the board there are various sensor cleaners you can use.

Also -- obvious, but worth saying -- check your lenses and filters. Some of that might be coming from those, which are rather easier to clean!

I think Kirbinster has probably made the point clearly enough, in big, red letters. A hand pumped blower will be just fine although it may take a few goes. You'll want a clean environment to work in and, once dust starts floating in the air (after you've dislodged it with the air) you may want to take a break and test the results rather than leaving the camera open to pick up more dust.

Never, never change your lenses when the camera is on. The sensor is electronically charged and will suck in all available dust bunnies. So, before you change, turn it off.

Gotta be careful if wind is blowing as well. Turn back to wind as if you're taking a pee. Remember the saying, "Don't pee into the wind!"

Definitely a rocket blower for the sensor. I bought one recently, and I also got a lenspen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzcj2HX5QHE) they were about £10 each.
