Welcome to DPS!
The closest I've come to your situation is shooting out of the (passenger seat ) of a moving car, but maybe that's close enough to offer a suggestion or 2?First, reflections may be an issue. I haven't really figured out how to avoid reflections consistently, but what seems to help are are circular polarizing filter and keeping the camera parallel to the window. Second, if the windows are tinted, this will likely impact the color of your photos. Third, at time the window seems to distort the photo - maybe it's when I try to take a pic of something that's not directly in front of me, so that I shoot through the window at an angle? Maybe try experimenting to see what works? That way, you'll have a decent idea of what to do when you get to a place where you really want to get a shot. Last, if possible, it might be a lot easier to shoot from a part of the train that's outside - many less variables to get in the way. That's all I've got. I'll be happly to be corrected if I said something off the mark. The train trip sounds fantastic. I'm envious! |
