Default Wide Landscape Shot

Hi Guys

Can someone tell me how some people take nearly 360 degree photographs of landscapes ??

I mean are they taking a lot of different images on a Tripod each at a different angle then joining them all together using some Computer Software ??

Thanks

Point us to a specific example?

You need a tripod to start in my opinion. The last 360 degree panoramic picture i took was about 14 pictures. My camera shows the last picture I took which allows me to align the scenery. Try to keep your horizon level. Any misalignment in the beginning will magnify over the course of the shot. It took me two tries to get this. The original looks WAY better (and Bigger...like 27,817x2070 pixels)!

The general rule for panoramas (like the on above) is to take a bunch of pictures and overlapping about 1/3 of the frame for each shot. You'll end up with a whole bunch of images, but it's a much better result.

You can also make a vertical panorama (just tilt the tripod head instead of pan) or you can take vertical shots and make a horizontal pano (each shot is vertical, theyre stitched together).

Some software will even allow you to make a 2D pano, allowing you to not only make one row of images, but several.
