Default Multiple exposures in a single frame

With my 35mm camera I could force the film to not advance and take multiple exposures on a single frame and get some fun results. Is this something that can be done with a digital camera or am I stuck on this one?

I currently have an SD1100 IS so I am a bit limited in the manual control department - but I plan on buying a DSLR by mid-summer.

thanks-
chad

Some of the Nikon bodies allow for in-body multiple-exposures, but most digital cameras don't, because it's so easy to do (with far more control) in digital post-processing with layers, transparency, and masks.

D80 allows up to 3 frames. I've ever used it, though.
