Question How do they do this levitation???

So I have this idea of a photograph, and it involves this levitation trick I see sometimes, only problem is, I have noooo idea how to do it!?! Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I know a magician never reveals his secrets, but maybe just this once

Here are a couple examples of what I mean:

Looks like. And a labour intensive bit of photoshop at that.

I havent done anything as techical as the links you've provided but I goofed around with it a bit in my bedroom.

set your camera on a tripod or have your friend hold it,
set your camera and flash so that it freezes with NO motion blurr.
jump on your bed or a trampoline to get some air.
pose for your shot in a very calm way so that it doesnt look like you just finished jumping off something.
have your friend snap the picture.

it will take a few tries but that's how i achieve the floating effect. I like the bed b/c after you jump, you can hold your pose for .01367 seconds longer as you dont have to land on your feet. The concrete is not so forgiving. You can always PS out the trampoline in PP

Another way:
  1. Put your camera on a tripod, and set everything to manual
  2. Put a chair where you want your levitating human to be
  3. Put a human on the chair
  4. Focus, set the correct exposure, and take the shot
  5. Remove the human and the chair
  6. Take another shot with the exact same focus and exposure
  7. Load the photos in your favourite photo editing software, put them in one file as layers, and mask out the chair. The photo without chair and human will show through, hiding the chair from sight.

Here is a quick demo of what I described above. It's a zipped Gimp file, so if your editor can't open it you can download the free and Open Source Gimp. I had to make it really small & low quality to attach it to this forum post, sorry. I think it'll still be useful, though.
