In New York it's starting at the top, about one-quarter in at 5:15 AM est.

It looks spectacular, but the Moon is too dark for my point and shoot, so I'll upload some of the "pre-totality" pics later.

Edit to add: dang, they came out kind of fuzzy (and these are the good ones). http://www.zooomr.com/photos/kevinlew/sets/20782/

I'll have a look at the ones I got, see how they are. I'm shooting on a dSLR and I found it hard to get anything decent, so don't feel too bad, Klew, yours are quite good. I didn't do too much better!

Just got back, taking some more pictures from my house. But damn was it freezing and windy out by the beach. Got some good shots though (at least I think). Haven't downloaded the pictures yet, but thankfully it cleared up enough for most of the evening to see things.

Default composite of entire eclipse

I actually posted this image in another thread so sorry for the duplication.
For full details about how I shot it go to the thread titled simply "lunar eclipse"
Sorry that highly compressed upload doesn't do the image justice.
PS nice images everyone

Was shown this last night, thought it might be of interest in this thread.

Pretty crazy, two tele-converters too! I wonder why the left side is so much more rough and scarred??
