Default PLEASE HELP I can not see the subject in the monitor of my laptop

Hi all, I have a DSLR Canon EOS Rebel XT, as part of the kit, there is a CD with software such as Digital Photo Professional, ZoombroserEX, Canon uitlities, etc
I have been playing with the funcionality "Remote Control" where I can set the fparameters in the laptop and shoot from there. What I can not do is when I am focusing the subject, I can not see it in the monitor.

Do you know if I am missing something in order to see the subject in the monitor before I shot ??

How can I see the subject in the monitor during the focus & parameters adjustment?

I will appreciate your comments
Thanks
Art

And this is where it all becomes crap. You will see the image after you have shot it, just as you would if you were holding the camera. Because viewing is TTL using mirrors the sensor does not see the image until the mirror is raised.

Great stuff isn't it, Not. But it is useful for planning shots, or looking for that decisive moment, as you can set your camera on a tripod and then remotely trigger the shot.

What you are missing is "Live View".
The XT does not have this feature.

These have it, 450D (Xsi), 1000D, 40D, 1DS Mk III and 1D Mk III, and probably some others. 400D (XTi) does not have it.
