I'm getting a 16x20 picture printed of me and my hubby and I have no idea how to crop it so that it looks good. (a local pro printer is having an amazing one day sale....so that's the rush) Can you guys help me? I've been trying for too long and now nothing looks good.

I don't know if this helps. Someone on DPS can probably get rid of the pavement line above your husband's head? I've made you 'a friend' on my FLickr so that you can click through and see the picture large size.

NOT MINE-DPS only

HI laurie. Great photo. You can get rid of the pavement lines using the cloning tool in photoshop or similar. Good luck.

cute photo!

I would crop in some on the right side - cutting off more of his elbow so it looks more intentional? What do you think? Something about just barley loosing his elbow bothers me. That might look more strange - but worth a shot!

you probably already thought of this... But I'll mention it anyway. 16X20 may be pushing the limits of your original shot. Did you shoot this one in RAW as well? Just don't want you to be disappointed with your enlargement.

If you have the pixels to spare, I'd go close. The fact that you two are already close would lend itself well to a close crop. Unfortunately, I'm at work and don't have access to any of my "tools".

Take care.
Steve

I went in tighter with the crop than the others here. I like the lines in the sidewalk... a bit too much, in fact. I minimized their involvement to just leading the eye back to the couple. I also adjusted the levels a bit with an adjustment layer. Last, i added a white vignette (dark vignettes on light photo is a big no no... vignettes are an aide to the eye, not a distraction)

All in all, very cute photo! I do like the lines in the cement, and the pose is all around cute
