Default What is the name of this technique?

I am just wondering what technique this is called. I am going to take a wild guess and say, cross-processing, but I am not sure. Here are a few photos. These are not mine, they are copyright of photographers and retouchers on Modelmayhem.com. Thanks!

Most photographers I know call it "vintage" processing. If you're using Photoshop or Lightroom, google "vintage actions (or) presets" - you can download the actions and presets from several sites - some for a fee, some for free.

And just FYI - here's a link to a site that has a simple explanation of the cross processing technique and examples, so you should be able to recognize that when you see it http://crossprocessing.info/

ETA: Obviously in the 2nd shot you linked to, there's been some heavy work done to the background as well - I was only referring to the toning.
