thats what I meant, my 50mm isn't a real 50mm when shooting as it becomes 75mm or 80mm when I shoot it on the camera. It may be beneficial or not depends on your situation, but its always good to know before buying the lenses that it will have this effect.

"my 50mm isn't a real 50mm when shooting as it becomes 75mm or 80mm when I shoot it on the camera"
If I not wrong ..Yes .. I saw one article .. Canon 50mm F1.4 vs Sigma 50mm F1.4, it saying Canon is giving 50mm while Sigma is giving 75mm on non full film DSL camera ...!! "(3) If shooting in low light you can't have it all (possibly unless you are willing to shoot at very high ISO) You may be able to position yourself where shallow DOF isn't rewally a problem. by shooting square on to a subject or using DOF creatively." I want freeze the dance with a clear & sharp ..any recommend setting?? 1) I set ISO100/ F4.5 .. with shutter speed 150 .. ->dark 2) I set ISO100/F4.5 .. wif shutter speed 30 ..-> light ok, but blur .. 3) I set ISO100/F1.4 .. wif shutter speed 100 ..-> light ok but background blur ... 4)maybe u right .. ISO1600 to 3200 will get what I want..but many noise ... like below picture... non of the picture is sharp & clear .. I taken by using kit lens ..18-135mm some wif flash due to I afraid using 50mm lens due to I afriad my movement limited .... If ISO 100 & 1/100 @ F1.4 freezes the action, but the DOF is too shallow.
I would shoot RAW as this will give you more control when post processing, including noise reduction. I would be shooting at ISO 800 & 1/100 @ F4 this will give you more DOF.. You may need to do some selective noise reduction when post processing. I would also consider using ISO 1600 & 1/100 @ F5.6 this will give you even more DOF and will allow you to use your kit lens to get more reach (at the expense of DOF). You may find you need to to use stronger noise reduction. When shooting classical music concerts I don't have any problem shooting at ISO 3200 on a Canon 40D if need be. However I will always be shooting RAW and applying noise reduction during post processing.

I am flat out trying to believe you can freeze dance action at 1/100th sec shutter speed in any light let alone low light regardless of aperture or ISO. It would have to be extremely slow dancing imo. In fact, using a long lens you would almost be sure to get camera movement blur as well when handheld.
