As you all HOPEFULLY know, the perseids meteor shower is happening the night of August 12th, and i'm definitely going to be out there capturing photos and maybe even making a time-lapse too. The only thing is, I know meteors last for maybe a second or two.. so what should my best bet for exposure be (to capture as a time-lapse motion of the meteor moving through the skies)... will 10" do the trick?

You'll be trading off betwee "long enough to get meteors to show up" and "short enough to keep the stars from giving you trails". For the latter, this post looks like it might be useful. I'd use a shutter speed right at the maximum and then adjust exposure with aperture and ISO.

Thanks for the chart Doug. Good thing about living in the "sticks" is I don't have to go far to get away from the light pollution.
