Taken in a one room school at Kawartha Settlers Village in the little village of Bobcaygeon, Ontario.
F5.6, 1/125, 18mm, ISO 640 Flash in the corner of the room (camera left) approx 7' high, ambient light from 2 windows (camera left) and one door (camera right) ![]() I would have prefered the detail in the window to be clearer, how would I go about this? |

1. Use enough flash to fill entire room and match light from outside.
2. Take 2 exposures, one for room, one for outside, and stitch the outside one onto the image exposed for the room.

Nice scene - there's something very peaceful about it ...

This is a great picture. The only issue I have with it is the same one you do (the window being blown out).
I don’t think this should be an HDR photograph. I say this because I enjoy the shadows and light coming from the side. I enjoy it because it feels like it probably did back when it was a new school operating solely off of natural light. I think taking a photo for the window and simply copying and pasting it in the photo of the room would be better. It would take some adjustments but it should look fine.
