I am at a stale-mate with improving my images. I am looking for an on line or dvd training package that does not break the bank. While I have seen many advertised here, has anyone tried any of them? I do not know how I am going to know that I will get my moneys worth. Any input is appreciated. Thank You!

I am looking to primarily improve the initial photographic image. I have Lightroom and Elements and I would also like to get better at those, but the initial image seems to be where I am stuck the most.

It really depends on what aspect you're wanting to improve. Check out Kelbytraining.com he has videos (some free, some for a subscription) on everything photography. If you do or are interested in doing off camera flash then check out Strobist.com Lighting 101 or either of his dvds. Youtube also has lots of videos on there. You could also go the book route, I've gotten several useful books from the library. If you tell us more specifically what aspect of your images you wanna improve we can give more specific recommendations.

I am trying to improve my overall ability. I take a lot of photos and get a few that really turn out. I want to be able to take a few and have them all turn out. I have trouble with sometimes getting the exposure, depth of field, etc... just the way I want. I know practice make perfect, but it seems like I've hit a point where practice is not helping.
I have found the youtube videos to be enlighting. I have read several books including Scott Kelby's. While they are helpful, I am more of a vision/auditory learner. For now I think I will exhaust youtube and keeping practing. Thank you for your help.

If you need audio/visual then check out Kelbytraining, com. I've seen some of em and the ones I saw are basically you on a photoshoot with some pro, and they're talkin through everything they're doing.

Any recommendations on actual books? I am a big fan of holding and reading a book rather than looking at a screen. Perhaps, just name off some books that you guys have read that were a good help. I am guessing that would cover it. After High School (1995ish) a friend gave me the Ansel Adams series, and it was not until recently that I started reading them.
