Default How to photograph against sun

I came across a beautiful photograph of a couple shot against the sun on flickr. Check this photograph. The photograph focuses on the couple and the background is effectively blurred. What camera settings should I use?

The exif (Exposure information) data is available via the Flickr photo page.
It's under the actions drop down menu,

But bottom line is not knowing the settings, but knowing the reason for the settings.
If you copy the settings, you're not likely to get the same results because YOUR lighting conditions aren't going to be exactly the same.

You need to know how to place your subjects so that when you expose for them (ie need to know how to use exposure lock or be quick in changing your settings) you'll get that nice glow.

also, unless you have a full framed camera shooting at f/1.8, you're not going to get the same Bokeh as he has in his image.

Just remember, it's not about chimping/copying the settings.. it's about knowing the 'why' of the settings. I hope you know those else you're going to be disappointed if you simply copy the settings and try to take photos.

When you know the why, you'll be able to duplicate this image without having to know the settings. That's when you'll see yourself improving.

EDIT: And lets not forget the (possible) PP that went into this for the color tones.
