I will be attending an airshow tomorrow and I'm looking for advice on what settings to use when shooting the planes.
I'll be shooting with a Nikon D300 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Any suggestions on what shutter speed or aperture to start with? Today the weather was cloudy and raining and tomorrow they are calling for "variable cloudiness" but no rain. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks |

Shutterspeed priority, spot metering, use the AF system to lead the plane. Set a shutterspeed around 1/500 to 1/1000. The faster the better.
