I'm still fairly new to photography so I usually have minor - major mistakes in my photos. When you guys started out and made mistakes, did you at least try to go back and recreate the shots or did you mostly try to correct them in post? I usually try post but I feel like I'm cheating myself and my learning process by not starting from scratch.

You cant always correct. You may find that you just need to try again.

Yes, I agree but even if you can correct in post, would you take the time to recreate the shot instead?

If it was possible to recreate the shot and try again, yes, I most certainly would. It is best to learn as much as you can and try to get it as "right" as you can straight out of the camera, rather than rely on post processing. Having said that, even the best shots, SOOC, usually need a little tweaking after the fact. It's a balance I suppose.

I really believe in recreating a new shots rather correction in post.....because this will also improve my skill and practice is a way to success...

I'll go back and shoot again if I can. Sometimes the location is too far away or hard to get to - so, I hope that I can go back in the future.
I make a habit of checking images I shot at a location before I go there again - so I know what I might want to capture - or try again, or try entirely differently |
