Default Tascosa Roasters Tournament

Went to a local girl's softball tournament over the weekend, shooting on speculation. Ended up selling images to all the parents of daughters that I got some decent images of!
I would like to do more of this; but I usually end up with about 1/4-1/3 of my images being too out of focus to present to anyone. With that in mind, I shot almost everything this weekend in "shutter priority" set at 1/1000 or 1/750.
I tried to get as low as I could when shooting to get a different angle. Here are some of my favorites. With the exception of cropping, they are SOOC.
My two questions are concerning cropping and exposure; but welcome any critique. Since these games were played all day long, most of the lighting is harsh. Should I have used a polarizer? Should I have shot in "aperture priority"?
Thank you for any comments.
