I got “error 99″ on my Canon rebel

Nothing works (removed batteries from GRIP
for more then 5 minutes, removed card, shoot down
with batteries inside…help...
When I turn on , he makes right soft sound

I feel your pain. Unfortunately, "err 99" is a catch all error for Canon rebels and can mean anything from your lens contacts are dirty to a firmware upgrade to a complete shutter mechanism replacement (as was the case with mine). I have documented my experience with "err 99" on my blog here, here and here. Also, check out this guy's blog . His is the first that comes up when you google the error so his blog has become a meeting point for most who experience this issue (and there are a lot of us). Good luck. If it's serious, check your warranty.
