Unfortunately, you're not likely to find much advice with respect to using InDesign for web publishing since it's a tool largely used for print and electronically published books and magazines.
For just prepping photos for use on the web, you'll need an image editor (something more along the lines of Photoshop) for altering/compressing your images into jpgs or pngs. While you could use InDesign to layout a website's interface, it's kind of like banging in a nail with a screwdriver. You're better off using Photoshop or Fireworks or something more along those lines for design, then Dreamweaver for your build out. |

What, specifically, are you trying to accomplish?

brendan_quinn and jdepoule I thank you both for the reply,
It is all about to learn to design a photobook in PDF. I think Indesign will gave me flexibility more than PS or Lightroom. I have to buy Indesign. Before I do that I like to have more than a global impression that indeed Indesign is the right tool. |

To create a multi-page document, yes you will need InDesign. You will also need the full version of Acrobat to make the pdf a fully interactive eBook.

I just started using InDesign recently and it is a fantastic page layout tool. It is very, very deep though so if you are not familiar with page layout tools, put your learning hat on.
But, if you have experience with professional level tools (like Quark Express) or have a print design background, you should be able to dive in and get to producing pretty quickly.I've just started using inDesign in the past year and am no expert (I did print design for 15 years but took a long break to do web), but, I do know that you have many options for PDF creation. You can make PDFs for high end commercial type printing all the way to low res web use. And although I've not yet tried it, it looks like you can even export to JPEG. As far as online tutorials, I highly recommend this site ... Software training online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more It requires a paid subscription but worth the money. I think you can sign up for free trial to see if they have what you are looking for. This might be of help too, it's related to InDesign PDF creation ... Adobe - InDesign CS4 PDF Export

AAAAH!!! sorry for the offtopic comment, kind of, but I love love love Quark Express!!!! I hate indesign though. sorry but after using Quark Express for so long, Indesign, the few times i was forced to use it at work, was very annoying to me (only because it was so different from Quark Express) so don't take my opinion of it to heart.
