Default DOF Photos

Hello Everyone,

Well, I have studied all of the posts and taken in the advise given and now have attempted to put it all together. I used my Pentax K20D with the SMC Pentax 18-250mm lens.

Some of the EXIF data did not come through for some reason and I have cleared the images from the camera so some photos do not have the focal length.

Would appreciate your thoughts on my attempts. I realize the subjects are not the best, however, it is extremely cold in my neck of the woods and I figured some practice was better than no practice.

AV Priority, 1/350 sec, F6.2, ISO 100

Thanks to everyone again for your guidance. I NEVER would have been able to get this far.

Cheers,
Carrie

Looking good Carrie! Keep on practicing! Your efforts are paying off.

I wish taking guidance, putting it in to practice, and sharing the results would happen more often around here. Thanks Carrie for doing just that!

Those pic are looking great, the DOF is telling a story, I particularly like the knarled tree with the fuzzy tree in the background, and a hint of bokah. And the apertures aren't massive either, f6.2. I would have guessed it was more like 3.5. I'm really pleased for you how this is progressing, and I've learn a lot from this whole thread.

Thanks!

Thanks RLucas and BexJarratt for your support. I have learned alot from this thread. However, I must admit that I found myself relying on practicing my distances more than using the DOF calculators/charts. It seemed as though I had to do to much math! hyperfocal what??

I also gained alot from the photos/settings that were posted and the explanations about distances in relation to your subject.

I hope others will gain as much knowledge as I have here. I know I still have a long way to go, but I feel as though I have so many people supporting me

Carrie
