hello there!
im new to dslr photography and recently bought a d90. but i notice some of my pictures come out with a kind of lens flare reproduction examples here. http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1818/dsc0030hf.jpg http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/9434/dsc0053qa.jpg http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/9679/dsc0143k0.jpg http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/2630/dsc0526t.jpg http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/4630/dsc0511al.jpg photos taken with a nikon 50mm 1.4d plus this filter how can i stop this from happening? dont shot backlight photos? hood? any filters? thanks! |

Try removing the filter, they can make flare a lot worse..
Use a lens hood. It may help. Make sure your lens front element is clean.

Try removing that filter it makes no mention of it being multi-coated to help reduce reflections and glare. Seeing as how its a 10$ UV filter its probably a piece of garbage. If you want to just protect your lens get a clear filter. If you want to filter UV I think you will need to spent a lil more money on a good multi coated filter.
Also some of these images have stronger back light which will cause fringing around area's of high contrast (around the face when there is a window behind the person). Try to avoid compositions like this. You could probably correct some of the fringing with your post processing program depending on what your currently using.

Dont use one. Seriously.
I have UV filters for my lenses, btu they only ever go on when the lenses are very likely to get some kind of damage to them (spray, mud, dust, etc)
