Consistent Product Photography

I work for an electronics manufacturing company and have been tasked with updating all of our product photos on the web (2000 of them). We are trying to introduce a consistent photographic style in regard to positioning of product. I would like to use a template or something similar to show the various angles of positioning product in the photo box I will be removing the background so having writing under the product is no problem. Do you know where I can find one or make one? I am a novice photographer so am trying to get up to speed...Thanks!

This depends greatly on the items you'll be photographing

The products are from very small, a computer terminal block about 1 inch by 1 inch. To medium (most of our products) the size of a compact camera or a little larger and than not to much larger than that the size of a bread box. Any suggestion are greatly appreciated!!

In that case there is no way of getting them all to be consistent. It's just not going to happen because of physical restrictions inherent in their size.

What you could do is print or draw a grid onto the background at an angle, then line up the product on the lines, so you always have them at approximately the same angle. You will obviously need to ensure the camera is in the same place each time.
