Default 18 % grey card

Hi Everyone ! it's the learner again with another question

I am learning all about metering and have a question about the grey card :
If i meter off that every time, will i always get a correct exposure ?
Does this little card remove the need for exposure compensation for example in a snow shot ?

Thanks everyone, brain in a knot again !!!

The grey card is more for setting white balance so that it appears grey under the prevailing light conditions.

Can be used for both white balance and may help with consistent exposure, however see this re the 18%
