Default Can you see the loneliness?

IMG_8665

I know this is a very simple photo, but I have tried many different settings trying to get the "mood" that I want. I tried to make it a lonely and sad photo. Do you have any comments on how to make it better? Should I make it darker? What do you think? Thank you.

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T1i
Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 116 mm
ISO Speed 200
Exposure Bias 0 EV

I think B & W might be one way to get the mood you want.

Tito87, thank you for your suggestion. I love the B & W mood. It's on my blog, you can take a look if you like. Thanks again. 燕窝

I like both the black and white and color versions of this image though I suspect the lighting is a bit too "happy" to really convey much lonliness, but it's a nice image just the same. What is sad to me is the fact that someone has had to chain the bench to the ground to keep it from being stolen!

Hahaaa...LeeR, you noticed that too, huh. First, I thought I was too sensitive about the chain. The chair is at the arboretum in a university.
This is what I meant, the lighting looks "happy", at least this is how I feel. But, I can't think of anything else (Beside making it B&W) I can do.
