Default Sharpness at 100%

Hello,
just wanted to ask if it is normal, that all photos turn unsharp when zoomed in at 100%? I captured a football game with my Canon 500D and the photos look pretty good if i watch them at 20%, but if i'm zooming in, it's getting worse.
Example:

I wouldn't say it's a lack of sharpness, but an abundance of noise from the ISO being up to 3200. Without spending an arm and a leg on some big fast glass, this is the compromise you're left making. Pump up the ISO to freeze the action and deal with the noise, or drop the ISO but potentially have blurry shots because the shutter speed is too slow.

You might have good luck with some noise-reduction software, either built into the editing software you're using now, or via an external program.

Photoeditors are a sick lot who don't want to hear your excuses about lighting conditions or lens speeds but insist on razor sharpness every time. I agree with IABoomer that your problem is not sharpness but excessive noise. I don't agree that noiseware will fix the problem. I ran this image through my system and was able to improve the noise problem but not fix it entirely.

Purely an ISO issue.

Damn I must have missed that debate. Really, Bombers and Lee are right, unless you have the fast glass, there's only one thing you can do is bump up the ISO to shoot at a higher shutter speed.
