Default star photography

I have been trying to do some star trails and star time lapse photography, but every time I go out and shoot the camera doesn't shoot. I have it on manual, 3200iso, f3.5, and 30'' shutter speed, but the camera refuses to take the picture.

ok I think I know what I did wrong, I never turned off the autofocus on the lens itself. I will try again tonight.

AF will do it - Also - iso3200 is going to increase noise. I'd recommend iso 100 and a tripod with a cable release so that you can go to bulb and go beyond 30 second exposure times.
