Slideshows with Music in Lightroom 3

Hopefully someone has tried this function in LR3, I'm having difficulty with 2 aspects of the slideshow module.

- The "Fit to Music" selection does not work as I'd expected, I've had to manually adjust the slides and fades durations to make the timing work. I suspect something else is enabled that I need to disable, but have been unable to determine what that may be.

- The only export option is mpeg4, in H264 format. I have no program that reads this format, and the few free downloads I've tried (such as VLC) won't run the file either.

Any suggestions?

Do you have QuickTime? H.264 is pretty standard, surprised VLC doesn't though, that one plays nearly anything.

I have Quicktime 6 and that doesn't play it. I've checked Quicktime 7, the upgrade is free but some functionality is lost that has to be "bought back". Not confident the upgrade will work or is worth it otherwise.

I have tried to make a slideshow and had some trouble too. Since you obviously put one to music, could you tell me how to add a playlist? I can only add one song, and I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. Thanks!
