Yes, but your focus is off. THe focus is on the lower pollen pods, not on the actual flower. You need a deeper depth of field.
Exposure bias has NOTHING to do with sharpness: it affects how the camera meters. "Sharpness" is such a complex and subjective term that it's kinda silly to attribute it to any number of things.

f/5.6 would be creating SHALLOWER DoF because it's a larger aperture. Try f/11 or f/16 When you adjust the aperture, you'll see the meter adjust as well. You will have to have a longer shutter speed, which is where a tripod comes in handy
