We are soon to be making a visit to Brighton, where we hope to have time to go and see the Sea Life Aquarium. However, we also want to be able to take some photos whilst in there. Can anyone give me a few tips as to how to set the camera up? Presumably, large aperture because of low lighting conditions? but flash not possible because of reflections off the glass? I have a DSLR but my husband has a compact. Your help would be appreciated. http://digital-photography-school.co...s/confused.gif

Not done to much of this type of shooting, but you should be able to use flash if your lens/ lens hood is against the glass. I haven't tried one but you can buy a rubber hood that I have been advised makes shooting at an angle easier whilst keeping out the light.

I realize this is a bit late, but I wanted to add something.
Depending on the aquarium (or even zoo) you go to, there may be nocturnal or light-sensitive creatures. It's pretty obvious in this case that you don't want to use flash, but what's not immediately apparent is that you may want to switch to manual focus. Several cameras will shine a light to aid with the auto focus. By switching to manual focus, you will not only prevent that light from potentiality harming the creature, but you may also run into less problems with the camera focusing on the glass. |

Also a bit late to reply, but if you haven't gone yet, here is a thread that might help you out:
