Default Taking photos of LED Walls

I've been given as a job to take photos of an event in the local TV station.

I have encounted a problem, these LED walls (see the attached photo) have a a certain refresh rate and therefore whenever I take photos, the LED wall appears to have lines across and not complete images.

Another problem is that these LED walls usually appear to be TOO bright incomparision to the surround event environment...

Any suggestions on settings..I should use? If there are any additional information that would help, please contact me
(P.S. Please have a look at the attached photos, if you don't understand the situation)

Thank you very much!
Any help/suggestions appreicated!

There's nothing you can do about that: the screen and the surroundings are too different light-wise. You have to choose to either expose for the surroundings (and the people) or for the LED walls.

If you're shooting on a tripod you could try bracketing and then cutting and pasting them together in post, although it could be tricky with people in front of it. If it's a journalistic job that might be against the rules as well.

If you try to expose to get more detail in the screens, youre gonna lose too much in the shadows and your subjects are gonna disappear. Youve probably got the best balance as it is: you just cant get much better than that.
