I want to be a fashion photographer someday (i can only hope) and i know i am a huge way off this, but what type of post processing do you think people use to achieve sharp crisp doll like forms of people like in these dolce gabbana advertisements by steven klein http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2362/...aa8773d8ba.jpg or is it mainly in the camera? or the lighting? or the model? i want to achieve a look like this on this photo of mine hazza-6660's Gallery any other tips on fashion post processing very much appreciated. Thanks

Usually the "plastic" look in faces is done by bluring the image and smoothing the skin in several layers. If you have Photoshop, I recommend these tutorials for retouching faces and bodies 26 Professional Photoshop Retouching Tutorials Good luck and hope this helps |

Mainly lighting, a good dose of makeup (applied by a pro) and some heavy duty editing. Look for Skin softening tutorials.

There are two portrait programs that you might find very useful:
1) Imaginomic’s “Portraiture”: http://www.imagenomic.com/pt.aspx 2) “Portrait Professional”: Portrait Professional - Enhance your photos using the best airbrushing and photo editing software I find that “Portraiture” produces more natural skin tones, but “Portrait Professional” gives better control. One can adjust every feature from hair to eyes to facial symmetry. There is an issue with PP’s color management. Often one has to use both Lightroom and/or Photoshop. The “trick” is not to over process, unless you want that “alien” look. Good luck! |
