I work at a car dealership, and I use my Canon 50D every day to take photos of vehicles for our website. I am having some trouble figuring out at which point in the image I should be metering from. A portion of the vehicle is always in the sun and produces some glare, whereas some panels are completely in the shadows. The concrete also reflects a ton of sunlight. If I do a meter reading from the vehicle, it seems like the concrete is always way over-exposed. If I read from the concrete, the image is way under-exposed. If I read from the blue sky or the green foliage in the background, the results are not much different than if I read from the vehicle.
I feel like my photos are pretty decent (a lot better than a lot of car dealerships out there), but I am always looking to improve. Any tips? |
