Question Help with Long Gun Shooting

My dad has a collection of long guns and wants me to photograph them for inventory purposes and I don't have a clue how to go about getting the whole gun in the picture. I have a Nikon D1x with a 28-210, 80-200 and 50mm and a Cannon EOS Rebel XSi w/ 28 -80mm and a 75-300 mm. I would appreciate any suggestions and examples of shots taken.

Marian

I'm not sure if I understand the question. If the entire firearm won't fit in the frame than back up and/or zoom out until it does.

A couple of mine taken with just a crappy point and shoot:

i'd also suggest taking one of the whole gun then another of the serial # on them if they're for inventory purposes.

Let me post some suggestions how to take the long rifle shot:
1. shoot in the range with it properly set up a
3. some use a flag or camo cloth as background here I used a simple bath towel:

4.or just lay on the floor
