I am a avid Ultimate (Frisbee) player. I play in higher level rec leagues and often watch competitive tournaments (my fiancée plays womens comp. and I also sometimes watch some of the open (mens) games).
I often bring my camera along and now that we are finally outside (shooting indoors in the domes here means terrible lighting, extreme ISOs and slower than desirable shutter speeds) I would like to improve my technique. At present I shoot with my Nikon D90 and it's kit 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 lens. I have described my most recent efforts here: Jim.Robinson.Photography » Blog Archive » Stella at TUF 2010 I think I'm getting alright with the camera settings but I am curious as to if anyone has any experience shooting Ultimate and can give me some pointers about some Ultimate-specific techniques i.e. where to stand, anticipating action (I know the sport well so am OK at this), special settings or anything else that may be relevant. Even if you don't know the sport specifically, but think I can improve my settings for outdoor field sports, I'd be thrilled to hear your comments. I think my current stuff is OK, but I'd like it to be better. Hopefully in the future I will have some good shots to share. Thanks! |

Of course, shortly after I writing the original post my host went down for over a day so the link didn't work. It seems to be back up now. Sorry to anyone who tried to look over the past day and a half.
