Default Night HDR?

This is one of my absolute favorite picture on Flickr: HDR version of "In the Pink" on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Title says it's HDR. I would like to try something like this myself and I'm planning on going to this location sometime next week around sunset time. I wonder if there are any differences between day time HDR and late evening/night HDR? This picture I mentioned does not have exif data on it so I can't really analyse it it more detail but my guess is that it was taken within an hour after sunset. So I wonder if there are any differences between day/night HDR. I also like the purple look of the picture - do you think it was done by using split tone in lightroom or through any other means?

HDR is HDR: As long as you know what your middle exposure is, you should be able to find the over and under exposures too. The purple colour is likely from the sunset itself

Cool, I've tried night HDR but with horrendous results. However, I think it may be cos I tried it at night when it's all dark instead of twilight. Thanks for your input.
