I use Manual Exposure. I use Manual focus probably 1/8th of the time, usually in situations where autofocus is simply impractical.

Manual exposure, Manual focus are my first choices. When I was 1st introduced to photography many years ago during my college years, this is what I had to do. Now that I have re-entered photography many years later and I'm learning about digital photography. I must admit the auto features are very useful. It's great to be able to compare settings from the auto features and fine tune my manual settings. It’s also great to be able to get quick shots using the auto features as others have expressed. I can certainly understand that there many photographers that will never use the manual features. The only other point of interest I am noticing about digital photography auto features is the number of photos that I’m taking trying to get a great shot, as apposed to the time I spent composing single shots when I shot film.

Default Books or tips on shooting manual mode

I am doing more and more or this each day and was wondering if anyone knew of a book (s) out there that have some pretty good information about shooting manual. Especially outside. Indoors works out ok after a few test shots. I actually like the control much better when shooting manual.

Thanks
Keith
