Light in camera

What is the path of light through the camera ?

Aperture - Lens - Shutter - Sensor . Is this the order? What else is there in the camera?

the mirror covers the shutter to push light up into the Viewfinder. The pentaprism or pentamirror is there to turn the image back around (left-to-right and up-to-down reversal) so you get a WYSIWYG view to compose with. When you push the shutter button, the mirror swings up out of the way, the view in the viewfinder goes black, and the shutter is opened to expose the sensor for the shutter speed set. When the exposure is over, the shutter closes, and the mirror swings back down, and you can see through the viewfinder again.

The mirror is really only half-silvered, so that some light does still get through to the sensor, so the data can be used for autofocusing and autoexposure/metering. I think. I'm not too clear on this part, actually.

Well, I get the mechanical aspect of the thing. But to understand more, i think i would have revise my optics... anyway... thanks for the reply
