why don't you try it. shoot a subject with another object in the background. measure the background object against the foreground object. move back ten feet, using the same lens and since you moved back, the image will get smaller. crop the picture and measure the bg object against the foreground object. you will notice the change in the size relative to the foreground.
and please, do not make remarks that is not about the subject.

Yep, you're right. I guess that the further away the object is, the smaller your relative movement hence the less it shrinks in size due to perspective.

However, to say that the background remains the same is not quite accurate.

the background will remain the same if you zoom in and do not change your position or distance from the subject. but i was wrong in my first post that the bg will get smaller as you move away from the subject. it is the reverse, the background object seems to become bigger in relation to the subject. it only changes when you change your position, ie. farther or nearer the subject.
